This black belt, designed for international competitors, is calledTaisho, in reference to the strongest Judoka in a Judo team, generally the leader of the team. After years of experience with the new IJF standards, the KuSakura R&D department came out with this model, a belt that fitsalmost the same as a thick belt, but within the official standards. It is also the only IJF model for which integrated embroideries are possible.
This made in Japan black belt is made of 100% premium high-quality cotton.
Officially IJF approved, this belt is accepted in every Judo competition at any level.
With a width of 4.5 cm and 13 rows of top-stitching, this model quite hard, while letting you have a classy big knot.
Please note that the boxes offered in the "recommended products" section above can fit a belt up to size 6. Longer belts won't fit into the box.
The size table and recommendation are available by clicking on the "How to Choose your Judo belt" above the description, or on the dedicated page.
The waist size indicated is a standard recommendation. Please adjust the length to your liking, shorter or longer than the classic IJF standards.
The recommendation is made with a standard 'Judo' knot, not a double knot. If you do not do a simple knot, please consider a half-size longer to allow more room for the knot. Same advice for thick belts (which isn't the case with this IJF belt).
Please be careful with embroidery length as it might get caught in the knot. Allow 3 cm/letter in Japanese, which means a standard name such as "Christopher" translated in Japanese as "クリストファー" would be about 20 cm long. We recommend avoiding long embroidery, or first family name if you have long names.
