This original 1960s oriental dress, complete with intricate frog fastenings, has been made using the most gorgeous shade of heavy green silk satin. The high mandarin collar fastens at the neck with a simple toggle, whilst the rest of the closure is made up of poppers and a side zip, running from hip to underarm. The fabric is lovely and thick, in a rich forest green, complete with delicate embroidery details in plum, orange, blue and lime thread. The design itself is made up of chrysanthemums and other floral sprigs, with a distinctly oriental feel. The dress is lined in a matching green shade, making it perfect for the colder months, and has splits along both the left and right hand sides.
Although this dress does not have a specific designer it is beautifully made, most likely for the export market in Shanghai in the mid to late 1960s. It is in fabulous vintage condition, with no visible marks or flaws. It would best fit up to a size UK 10, or 6 US.
