An elegant 1920s cream silk art deco dress that is very well-made and extremely well preserved with some archetypal details from the era including the shirtwaister blouson style and decorative central button stand. The button stand features its original buttons leading to a pleated skirt. The dress has a classic V neck and fastens to the side with a singular popper on the waistband. There are belt loops but no belt remains. We have left the loops on in case the new owner would like to use their own - a silk scarf would look fantastic with this dress.
In superb antique condition - the silk is still robust and soft to the touch, there are no stains to note. The whole thing looks remarkably fresh. As the dress is accessed from the side it will need to be worn by someone around a UK 6 but there is scope to add a zip or lengthen the side opening. There is a long kick pleat in the back of the dress and this is absolutely perfect for hot summer months and warmer climes.
